THE COL.JOHN W RIPLEY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TRUST

 

has been established for the principal purpose of providing funds to have a BRONZE statue made and installed at the USMC Museum in Quantico, Virginia.

 

Donations are now being accepted for this memorial (nearly $5,000 has been contributed so far; we need approximately $70,000 to $100,000).  Please send your contributions to:

All donations will be acknowledged whether small or large.

 

The memorial would include a life-size bronze statue of Col. Ripley leading his Marines.  It is intended to include the names of each and every Marine who served in Lima Company while Col. Ripley was company commander.

 

The members of this Trust shall be every former Marine (such term shall include Navy corpsman assigned to the Marines) who served in former Captain John W. Ripley’s Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine division in Vietnam between January 1st and November 15, 1967.  No member shall be required to pay any dues/donation/fee beyond his service in Lima Company to qualify for membership.  Only members may vote at member meetings.

 

The Trustees may establish an honorary membership category which may include non Marine Corps personnel who were attached to Lima Company during the period described above, family members of John Ripley, donors who exhibit significant support for the Trust, and others as shall be determined by the Trustees or the membership.

 

There are no required dues of membership, but donations are encouraged in order to build the memorial.  It is likely that such donations will be tax deductable.  The Trust has a provisional 501(c)(3) approval.
